Hank Uberoi – Chairman
Hank Uberoi, who has served as Earthport’s executive director and eventual Chairman and CEO until 2018, grew annual revenue from £1.57 million to over £30 million during a 7-year tenure. Visa acquired Earthport in 2019 for approximately US$320 million after winning a bidding war against Mastercard.
Before joining Earthport, Hank focused on investments in technology, financial services and payments with an emphasis on cross-border business models. He has also previously served on the board of a NYSE listed company. In November 2006 he was appointed as the Chairman of the Technology Governing Board for the State of New Jersey, USA, a role he served until 2008.
Until April 2004 he was the Chief Operating Officer and head of an Equities Investment Business at Citadel Investment Group in Chicago where he was on the Management Committee of the firm. Hank joined Citadel in 2002 after spending 14 years at Goldman Sachs where he was a partner and co-Chief Operating Officer of the Technology Division. While at Goldman, he served on several firm-wide governance boards, including the firm’s Compensation Committee.
Hank graduated Magna Cum Laude from Williams College, Massachusetts with a BA in computer science and Physics.
